(Black) Lunch you can switch to either chicken or tuna. Coffee or tea is allowed. Dinner we then go with 8 oz. of protein (your choice) and a salad with dressing. The first day is the only one that uses grapefruit then toast fits in with fruit or egg salad. After the 3 days you take a break for 4 days and then repeat until you reach your targeted goal is reached. The secret is in the thermic properties of the grapefruit and the caffeine. Your body burns more energy during the digestion and you are running your body on 800 calories a day instead of 1500-2000 as recommended by nutritionists. This diet is good for 3-10 pounds of weight loss a week.

7 Day Drop 20 pounds variant

Another variant of the diet claims 20 pounds of body fat melt away. Here you lay it on with 10 servings of food a day. You need to consume 7-10 grapefruit a day, along with those 5-15 egg whites. Eat at 1-hour intervals of 1/2 to 1 grapefruit and 1-2 eggs. Take a 30-45 minute walk and hydrate with water to the tune of 64 ounces a day. At night with a cup of tea helps you sleep. Green Tea is recommended for its antioxidants and detoxing properties.

14 Day variant

Similar to the 3 Day diet, except you commit to a 14-day plan. However 1/2 a grapefruit is consumed at every meal with 2 slices of bacon. 2 Eggs are included at breakfast. Lunch has salad and 8 oz. of meat (your choice.) Dinner follows in the same pattern of lunch adding coffee. Continue for 14 days. Take a break and see where you are at. Then after a week or so of normal eating, you can start the regime for another 14 days to continue the diet.

28 Mega Diet

This is the most strenuous of the diets as it pushes you to your limits. It should not be followed by anyone with health conditions. This variant takes you to the edge of starvation. At this point your body will stop losing weight and attempt to save its energy. So you must monitor your weight and maintain a proper intake of water. The regime is focused more on the eggs. So, only eat 1 grapefruit every other day. Around the 15th day stop with the grapefruit and continue on eggs only. Once again, only attempt this diet if you are in good health to begin with.
